Service book
odogauge
The book your car should have come with. One page per car, an odometer at the head of it, and every fill, service, MOT, set of tyres and repair struck beneath in the order it happened.
What it keeps
- One page per car — plate, make, model, year, fuel and mileage, with the odometer printed across the top of the page.
- Every entry — fuel, service, MOT, tyres, repairs; date, mileage, cost, litres, pence per litre and a note. Nothing is rewritten, and entries are never re-dated.
- The figures — miles per gallon full-to-full with partial fills counted, pence per mile over the whole log, spend by type, and this year against last.
- The due page — every interval with two independent switches: by mileage, by date, or both, in which case whichever comes first wins.
What it refuses to do
- No account. There is nothing to sign in to; the book is on your phone.
- No ads, no analytics, no crash reporting. The app declares no network permission of its own.
- No locked history. CSV and JSON export, CSV import and JSON restore are free for everyone, on every plan, for the life of the app.
- No invented figures. A number it cannot answer prints a dash, never a zero — “no answer yet” and “it was free” are different facts.
Free, and Pro
- Free forever: the log, the due dates, the export and the import.
- Pro is the figures layer — cost per mile, the MPG trend, spend by type and the year against last — as one annual subscription bought through Google Play.
- When Pro lapses the figures pause and the record does not: no entry is ever removed or locked behind the purchase.
