Privacy Policy
odogauge is a service book for cars and vans on Android, published by Loadcircle Ltd (England and Wales). This policy describes the whole of our data practices, because there is very little to describe: the book lives on your device.
Where your log lives
Every car, every entry and every service interval is stored in a database inside the app, on this phone. There is no account and no sign-in, because there is nothing to sign in to. The app is excluded from Android's automatic backup, so the platform does not copy the book anywhere either.
What leaves the phone
- Nothing from the book. No entry, mileage, spend figure or note is ever uploaded.
- No accounts, analytics or advertising. There is no crash reporting, no usage counting and no advertising network in the app.
- One exception, named plainly: the only network traffic the app can make is Google Play Billing asking Play whether your Pro subscription is active. Nothing from your book is sent with that question.
The app's permissions
- Not requested: location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, storage. odogauge has no reason to know where you are or who you know.
- Merged in by Google Play's billing library: internet access and network state. These belong to the purchase check described above; the app declares no network permission of its own and is not written to use the network for anything else.
When you share a file
The CSV and the JSON backup are written on the phone and handed to the app you pick in the system share sheet. odogauge never learns where the file went, and keeps its own copy in the app's private storage until the app is uninstalled. Export and import are free and always will be.
The subscription
Pro is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment; the app is told one thing only — whether the subscription is currently active. Your card details never reach the app. Google's own privacy policy covers the purchase itself.
Deleting it
Uninstalling odogauge deletes the book with it, because the book only exists on this phone. Export a JSON backup first if you want to keep the history.
Children
odogauge is a record-keeping tool for people who run a car. It is not directed at children under 13, and it collects nothing from anyone.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you may ask us what personal data we hold about you. We hold none on our side, so the answer is always the same: everything is on your phone, under your control, and deleting the app deletes it.
